Connecting the energy professions to initiate the ecological transition
The SDEF, Syndicat Départemental d'Energie et d'équipement du Finistère, places energy at the service of the territory. The organization is in charge of the organization of the public service of electric energy distribution for the municipalities and is positioned as a key player to accompany Finistère in the energy transition and the development of digital uses for a more intelligent energy management. In this context, SDEF has deployed an IoT platform to connect and control the energy, waste, water, air quality and parking businesses.

In order to facilitate the monitoring, steering and optimization of territorial energy, waste, water, air quality and parking services, SDEF aims to aggregate, process and visualize all the data collected by the sensors set up in the smart cities of Finistère.

The Kuzzle IoT platform was chosen for its ability to embed key functionalities in this flagship project for the department. It ensures the interoperability of the connected systems, aggregates and restitutes data in real time and its geolocation system allows a precise monitoring of the equipment.

This approach is the first to have been deployed at the departmental level in France. It allows us to offer an à la carte service to local authorities. It also allows to accelerate the ecological transition and the implementation of public policies in terms of energy efficiency, but also in the field of citizen relations.
